AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRIC VEHICLE TRAINING
VACC is offering a course in depowering and reinitialising battery
electric vehicles. Completing this first stage will provide the
necessary training to allow individuals to access repair information
relating to high voltage automotive systems.
Participants will learn how to safely depower the vehicle’s high
voltage rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) and separated
extra low voltage (SELV) system and to reinitialise the RESS and
SELV, confirming correct vehicle operation.
Each participating VACC member
business receives a free safety glove kit.
Training will be held at the Outer Northern Trade Training Centre in Lalor on one Thursday of each month. Click on “REGISTER FOR THE COURSE” to see dates.
Training can be held at locations across Victoria and Tasmania, depending on demand. If Lalor doesn’t work for you, tell us where you want your training when you “REGISTER FOR THE COURSE”
The course duration is one day, from 8.00AM to 4.30PM.
Applicants will receive enrolment confirmation approximately
one week prior to commencement of course.
This course is for those working in the automotive industry,
including service and repair sector workers, towing operators and
dismantlers of EVs.
If you cancel your registration seven or more working days
before the event, we will refund 100 per cent of the fees
paid. For cancellations made less than seven working days
before the event, no refund will be made. Registrations may
be transferable at any time to another person within your
organisation at no charge. VACC reserves the right to cancel or
postpone courses and move registrations to other dates and
times. Course costs may be subject to change.
If not already held, participants must apply for a Unique Student Identification number (USI) . This is a government requirement for all students, and it is not possible to enroll unless the number has been provided.
To apply, go to the website usi.gov.au/students and click ‘Create USI’. You will need a Driver Licence or Medicare card to complete this task. If you already have a USI, then simply provide the number to the TAFE. If you have forgotten, then you can recover the number via the same website.
